Fly Me to the Moon!

Maybe you have imagined going to the moon. You may not be able to go, but you can join NASA's return to the moon by participating in NASA's, Name on the Moon adventure.

Click the link to register to have your name imprinted on a microchip that the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will take to the moon. The orbiter will orbit around the moon for years collecting data.

From the NASA website:

Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite mission to the moon.The two satellites will launch together aboard an Atlas V rocket with liftoff scheduled no earlier than Nov. 23, 2008. LRO/LCROSS is the first launch for NASA's new Explorations Systems.

The LRO/LCROSS mission hopes to discover what the moon has to offer for the future moon dwellers. For instance, finding safe landing sites, life sustaining elements, developing new technology and understanding the impact radiation could have on the humans that will someday inhabit the bleak moonscape.
