Support Center Open Tomorrow

The United Workers-NMI will open a support center at Fiesta Filipino Restaurant on Sunday, January 3, 2009 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for all guest workers and anyone who would like to make a comment on the DHS rules and sign the petition. They will have computers set up. The comment period for the DHS Rules ends January 7, 2009.

The online petition is at 1, 992 signatures and written pages exceed 2,600. Join the thousands of others calling for improved status for the nonresidents of the CNMI by signing the petition!

Additionally for all guest workers, a reminder that if you did not complete an umbrella permit, please stop by the federal ombudsman's office within the next two weeks. Additionally, all persons holding umbrella permits with a date to report in January need to go to the Federal Ombudsman Office for assistance. (Marina Heights II Building, Suite 203, Middle Road.)

What about for Rota, where will we go regarding our umbrella permits?
